Luumo

Terms of Service

Last updated August 7, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Luumo. By creating an account or using Luumo, you agree to them.

We have tried to write them in plain English, because the people using Luumo are mostly high-school students. Where a section matters, there is a one-line summary before the detail.

Who can use Luumo

You need to be at least 13. If you are under 18, show these terms to a parent.

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Luumo account. We ask for your date of birth once at signup to check. If you are under 13 we will not create an account, and if one already exists we will delete it.

If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian before using Luumo. If you are a parent or guardian and you let your child use Luumo, these terms apply to you as well.

We ask for your age; we do not verify it independently. If you turn 18 while using Luumo and keep using it, these terms continue to apply to you as an adult.

What Luumo does not promise

We cannot promise you a particular AP score. Nobody honestly can — your result depends on you.

Luumo is a study tool. We do not guarantee any specific score, grade, exam result, or college admission outcome. How you do depends on things outside our control: what you already know, how much you study, conditions on exam day, and changes the College Board makes to the exams.

Our practice questions are written by Luumo in the style of AP exams. They are not real AP exam questions, and we do not promise they match the current Course and Exam Description exactly. Exam formats change, and our content may lag behind.

Predicted scores, mastery percentages, and readiness indicators are estimates to guide your studying. They are not predictions of your actual AP result.

AI features

The AI can be wrong. Check anything important, and do not hand in its work as your own.

Luumo uses AI to answer tutor questions, explain answers, and grade free-response practice. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and it is not reviewed by a person before you see it. Treat it as a study aid, not a source of truth, and check anything that matters against your textbook or teacher.

AI grades are suggestions only. A score Luumo gives your written answer is an estimate produced by a model against a rubric. It carries no defined relationship to the score a College Board reader would give the same work.

The AI tutor is not a substitute for professional advice. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, or college-admissions advice. If you are struggling with something serious, please talk to someone you trust or a qualified professional.

AI answers are stored and may be shown to other students who ask essentially the same question, so do not type personal details into the tutor. See our Privacy Policy.

Honest use

Use Luumo to learn, not to cheat.

Luumo exists to help you understand the material. You agree not to:

  • Submit AI-generated text from Luumo as your own work where your school or teacher does not allow it.
  • Use Luumo during a real exam, or in any way that breaks exam security rules.
  • Upload College Board copyrighted material — such as real exam questions — into Luumo.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account.

  • Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password private and do not share your account. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

What you may not do

Do not copy the content, break the service, or use it to build a rival.

  • Copy, scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute Luumos questions, explanations, or study material.
  • Reverse engineer the service, or try to get around rate limits, paywalls, or security.
  • Use Luumos content or AI output to train another AI model or to build a competing product.
  • Upload anything illegal, abusive, or harmful, or harass anyone through the service.
  • Use automated systems to access Luumo in a way that burdens the service.

Who owns what

We own Luumo. You own what you write. We need permission to display it back to you.

Luumos questions, explanations, study guides, software, design, and branding belong to us. You get a personal, non-commercial licence to use them for your own studying, which we can revoke if you break these terms.

What you write stays yours — your free-response answers, tutor questions, and notes. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content so we can run the service for you: grade your work, show you your history, and improve how Luumo works.

Videos and other third-party content

Videos come from other creators on YouTube. We did not make them and do not control them.

Luumo links to and embeds videos published by third parties on YouTube. Those videos are created by other people, not by Luumo. We do not control them, we do not endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content. Playing a video is also governed by YouTubes own terms and privacy policy.

If you are a creator and want your video removed from Luumo, email Lummo-privacy@ikubes.com and we will take it down.

Changes and availability

Luumo will change over time, and sometimes it will be down.

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may limit how much you can use expensive features such as the AI tutor. We do not promise the service will always be available or error-free.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account, the licence above ends.

AP® and the College Board

AP® and Advanced Placement® are registered trademarks of the College Board, which was not involved in the production of, and does not endorse, this product.

Luumo is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the College Board. We refer to AP subjects only to describe what Luumo helps you study. All of our practice content is written independently by Luumo.

Disclaimer of warranties

LUUMO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ITS CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

Some places do not allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUUMO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITY, OR ACADEMIC OUTCOME, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

Some places do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Your responsibility to us

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of how you used Luumo or because you broke these terms. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian accepts this on your behalf.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts located there, and you and Luumo each agree to that jurisdiction.

Nothing here takes away any right you have under the consumer-protection laws of the place you live.

The usual small print

  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce something straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to.
  • You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else; we may transfer them if Luumo is sold.
  • These terms, plus the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us.
  • We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you, and continuing to use Luumo means you accept the update.
